WHERE TO START WHEN YOU’RE NEWLY ENGAGED

Christmas, New Year AND an engagement?? Talk about ending 2018 in a big confetti bomb of amazingness! From BB’s Events & Rentals to you, we say C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S! This is a fabulous time and we hope you enjoy this new cloud of happiness that you are currently floating around on.
One question though…How long was it before everyone (and we mean everyone) started asking the inevitable, ‘Have you set a date yet?

While you may still be floating on cloud 9, we know that you’ve got work to do and we’re here to help you make the most of your engagement. Below, you’ll find 9 things to do right after saying yes that will surely set you up for wedding planning success.

1. Tell your nearest and dearest

Call your family and friends and let them know about the exciting news! They will be so happy you took the time to let them know before updating your Facebook status.

2. Start dreaming about your wedding

Before you start checking off a checklist, sit down with your partner and talk about your wedding day vision. Getting each other on the same page with help eliminate miscommunication down the road. While you can find tons of great ideas and inspiration on Pinterest boards we also have a few other ways to get you inspired for your big day!

3. Set a budget
This is definitely the least fun part of planning a wedding but is key when it comes to deciding what vendors to hire and how many guests to invite.  Create a budget spreadsheet that will get your finances looking sharp for the big day!

4. Take engagement photos
Take your engagement photos as early as possible, as you’ll want to include a photo or two on your save the date cards.

5. Create a guest list
After you set a wedding budget, sit down with your partner and create a list of people you would like to invite. You will want this guest list prior to meeting with venues and caterers, as it will decide what you will be able to afford and what type of venue will work best for you guest count.

6. Choose a venue & set a date
Now that you know your guest count and budget, you can start the venue search. Go prepared with questions and take photos when you’re touring venues.

7. Build your vendor team
Select your dream team early as many of the best professionals are booked a year or two out! Ready to hire your wedding photographer, planner, florist, and more? You’ve come to the right place. Here at BB’s - we help with best vendors recommendations in the area, so that you can confidently hire a quality wedding professional.

8. “Say hell YES to the dress!!!!!”
Even though you just got engaged, you might be shocked to learn that it can take 6-9 months for your dress to be shipped to you, and that doesn’t include the time it took you to find your dress! It’s best to get this step out of the way as soon as possible just in case there are any last minute hiccups.
Saying yes to the dress was one of my favorite moments when I was planning my wedding, and it can be for you, too!

9. Stay organized
There are tons of ways to stay organized during the wedding planning process. A few of our favorites are on our list - sharing apps like Wunderlist , and file storage providers like Google Docs . Keeping up with your checklist and saving information to a Google Doc/wedding binder will help to stay happy and sane during the wedding planning process. You don’t want to be overwhelmed or stressed out on your wedding day, so make sure and put in the time beforehand to ensure your wedding goes off without a hitch!

LASTLY….remember we are here to help make all your dreams come true on your wedding day…full planner, Day OF event, designs, RENTALS…we got you covered at BB's Events & Rentals.

Reasons why You should leave Event set up and clean up to the Professionals

In my experience as a wedding professional these are just some of the things I've noticed throughout events that a couple should be aware of when planning to set up their own wedding or event.

It's not as easy as it looks.

I have had so many clients, mothers and fathers come to me after an event and say they wish they had spent the money to have us come in and set up and cleanup. They say they don’t realize how much time and energy goes into an event. It’s true. Unless you’ve been through it before you don’t know what it is going to take to get all those details in and out of a venue in a weekend.

Why leave it to the professionals

Most events take two days to complete depending on size and decor.  That's just to set up!  BBs gives you a sense of peace when you hire us. Knowing all the details gone over in client meetings will be incorporated in your day. It would be as the way we had laid out for you. Then we come in and take it all down. After the I Dos and all the fun is over you don't have to worry about getting out of bed the next day and cleaning up.  You can enjoy your time with family & friends that came to the wedding. Knowing we have taken care of everything.

Family and friends WILL help

I think most people hope their guests and family members are there for them and willing to help. In realty yes - family and friends are eager to help you with anything you need on your special day. To make it exactly as you want it. But don’t forget whats most important of your wedding or special event…

Their Time With You!

They are there to celebrate with you. So that being said. Sometimes it lowers costs to have family and friends help. But are you willing to allow your sister, best friend or aunt to miss out on key parts to the wedding weekend or event because they offered to help set up or take down? Or, yourself as a host or Bride able to miss key parts of the event because someone didn’t light the candles and now you have to?

These are just some things to think about when wanting to set up /clean up your own event.
